Can Team USA win the World Cup?
That is the question behind a new spot from Fox Sports, which has now launched its FIFA World Cuppromo campaign ahead of the tournament’s kickoff on June 11.
Featuring prominent players from the U.S. Men’s National Team and other celebrity cameos, the first spot, “Miracle,” imagines Team USA doing the impossible and winning the World Cup, with the ad set to Elvis Presley’s “The Impossible Dream.”
The ad kicks off with an imaginary scenario, as Christian Pulisic fires off a corner kick at the 97th minute during the final of this year’s contest.
Bars go silent as crowds across the country are gripped with anticipation, watching as Pulisic’s kick rockets toward the goal. Then—goal! The game-winning goal leads to celebrations and fans going delirious across stadiums, living rooms, bars, and watch parties throughout America.
After that, the promo snaps back to reality, showing two friends debating the scenario in a bar, with one of them saying, “It could happen.” Meanwhile, U.S. hockey legend Mike Eruzione chimes in, saying, “You don’t believe in miracles?”
“The 2026 World Cup is going to be an event unlike anything this country has ever seen before—more teams, more matches, and it’s happening right here in our own backyard on America’s 250th birthday,” said Robert Gottlieb, president, marketing, Fox Sports. “Our campaign invites fans to imagine the ‘what if?’ and feel the excitement a tournament of this magnitude brings.”
Created by Fox Sports Marketing, Special US, and directed by Lance Acord, the promo also features players such as Tim Weah, Weston McKennie, and former USMNT coach Bruce Arena. Plus, there are cameos from Michael Strahan, Tyler Adams, Fox Sports lead NFL analyst Tom Brady, and the network’s newest World Cup analyst, Zlatan Ibrahimović.
As the official English language media rights holder of the World Cup, “Miracle” is the first installment of Fox Sports’ promo campaign, with the network saying other promos will roll out in the coming weeks.
